Portraits of an amazing mom

Hi and hello :) It's been a while since my last blog - and I'm sorry, but a lot has been happening - so I just haven't had the time. I've been in Copenhagen for some weeks visiting a friend, and having a great time!! So I haven't been maintaining my photos lately. But now I'm back home and I have some pictures to show. I'm still working on the Harry Potter shoot photos, so I'll show those another time. The camera I used was one of my friends digital camera, so the quality is really bad! Actually I'm thinking not posting any at all, I'm not sure.. I've been lucky that the crabby digital camera I have, have been amazingly well in providing an okay quality - but even better my mom has started to let me borrow her digital mirror-reflex camera!! CHRISTMAS :D

I've been wanting to take portraits of my family for quite some time now, but I got inspired when I watched the movie: "Prince of Egypt" two days ago. At one point there's a closeup of the beautiful hebrew mom, and it reminded me of my mom - and here you go, my portrait of my amazing mom!

You can't really put my mom in a box - she's everything at once, but I really like the bedouin look and side of her. So it was very intentional that I made her wear this scarf, and I'm very pleased with the out come.

Hope you all have had a great time - since we talked, and that you have some good times to look forward to! Talk to you later.

ANTM - don't judge me!

Okay I wasn't going to spend more time on my blog today - I actually have a lot of stuff going on, but no I'm the master of finding something else to do.. I just needed to post my mind on this topic!! I sometimes watch ANTM - and I know it can be rather lame, but I still like it! I like to watch the photoshoots, and I love when the do the real creative ones - like under water, with spiders or blind in a bathtub with blood.. (I'm not a psychopath - it was a cool picture)
Well anyways I just saw the 6'th episode in cycle
14 and .... OH MY GOD! As I said I love the shoots, but one thing I can't stand is all that american blown-up drama that they have going on!! I hate when girls acts like bitches - I don't get why, I don't see the point and I in general don't wanna watch it. This cycle is just completely packed with drama-queens and wannabe drama-queens!!
It makes me so angry to watch - and one who I just CAN'T STAND is Angelea! She'll really beautiful and takes some great pictures I'll give her that, but her personality SUCKES! She's sitting there having a blast loving the fact that she's spiteful against the other girls - planting her seeds of insecurity - creating bitch fights and chaos around her were ever is is. If she wins ANTM I'll never watch another episode in my life - promise! The only reason she is doing so - is because she's SO scared that the other girls are going to beat her and has all this insecurity - the only way she can get on top is by bringing other people down. The sooner the better she get's kicked of the show the better!! Someone should put her in her place!!!!!
By the way Raina and then Jessica is my favorites (shown in the pictures)
Do you watch ANTM? Do you like this cycle? Do you agree with me?? Tell me your thoughts.

Once again have an awesome weekend - and now I will continue with the stuff ;)

Quote of the day

Today I don't have any pictures to show - I've been working on some Harry Potter themed dress-up pictures from a shoot I had with my friends some time ago now, but I'm not done jet.. Also I'm having a busy weekend, so.. I just wanted to make a quick blog were I would ramble and also tell why I took down yesterdays pictures. I did some thinking and thought that maybe putting them out on the internet wasn't such a great idea after-all - you never know if some stupid people will abuse them, so for my friends sake we decided to take them off the internet.

To talk about something else I saw this great movie yesterday called Eli
zabethtown, and I can't stop thinking about it. Basically Drew (played by Orlando Bloom) is having his wor
st day of a life time. He just lost his company one billion dollars, failing in launching a new shoe. He got fired, dumped and when he decides to end it all - he gets a call telli
ng him his dad died. Drew then has to go to -> Elizabethtown to his funeral and this journey changes his life. It's a really sweet and at times tragi-comic movie. I like those slow and tragi-comic movies, I think they're my favorite type of movies - and I do love movies. If you haven't seen it - watch it! If you have what do you think of it??
I wan't to end this blog with a quote from the movie - a really good one! It's the lady character in the movie (played by Kirsten Dunst) who uses these words of wisdom:

"So you failed.. Alright you really failed. You failed, you failed, you failed, you failed, you failed, you failed, you failed, you failed, you failed, you failed, you failed, you failed... You think I care about that? You're an artist man, your job is to break though barriers, not accept blame and bow and say: "Thank you I'm loser, I'll go away now." You wanna be really great? Then have the courage to fail big and stick around. Make them wonder why you're still
smiling. That's true greatness to me!"

I wish you all a wonderful weekend!

Philosophize

Hi guys and happy-only-3-days-left-of-the-week - I'm trying to stay positive. The weather is grey, it's staring to get cold again and I'm just not in the mood for bad weather!

I've just finished 3 pictures from a fruit photo-shoot I had with my friend, yeah I like fruit ;) I had this complicated idea I wanted to do, but it turned out that the concept was great with out all the extra fluff - so I decided to keep it simple. It's great that I have such great friends, they don't mind all my ideas and sometimes crazy dress-ups, I actually think they enjoy it :)

I really like my friend's look and mood on the pictures - it's like she's philosophizing about the fruit and maybe a bigger picture.. Well with out further ado:

Favorite photographers

There's so many talented and amazing photographers - from fashion photographers to war photographers. I have many favorites, but I wanted to pick 3 to show the absolute favorites!

Annie Leibovitz

Annie Leibovitz has been working for some impressive magazines and has shot pictures of for example The Rolling Stones, John Lennon and the English queen. She has been hired by Disney to do a series of photographs with celebrities in various roles and scenes for their 'Year of Million Dreams' campaign. I love her style, her light and all her work! She is my number one photographer!!

Steve McCurry
Steve McCurry was one of the first photographers I came to know, and that happened through his very famous 'Girl with green eyes' from 1984. I love this picture, but I love even more that he in 2002 found her again, and once again took her portrait - it's a life revealed.

Diane Arbus
Diane Arbus was a genius. Her pictures show people who live on the edge of social acceptance, and she questioned 'normal' and was devoted to transvestites, midgets, people on the street etc.

"Most people go through life dreading they'll have a traumatic experience. [These people] were born with their trauma. They've already passed their test in life. They're aristocrats."

Up-close

First of all I just wanna say THANK YOU to my 4 followers!!! It's great to know that someone is reading my stuff and it's not just me talking to the empty internet.I'm having an interesting time these days!! I'm 100% focused on my pictures and getting my application ready to send out to Viborg Media-school and i'm honestly very nervous!! So I've tried to relax and went to town and bought a cheap but cool new yellow bike!! That cheered me up, but when I saw all the THOUSAND pieces it came in - Jesus, that was a challenge!! Who in their right mind knows about putting a bike together - just out of the blue?
? Not me that's for sure!! And my nearly done, constantly braking bike is a prove to that!

Well speaking of bike, spring and therefore nature, I've got 2 pictures I wanna show you guys. Both taking up-close. First one is from last week, the second one from
last fall.

I have a pumpkin thing, don't know what it is - but I'm just madly in love with pumpkins!!

Expressive fruit

Strawberry Fields

Origin

Hello hello and happy monday :)
I've been working with fruit, and been coming up with different ideas to express feelings and moods.

Strawberry fields is inspired by the Beatles of course. The songs has been interpreted many times, but I think that strawberry fields are a state of mind, which you turn to in pain and agony. A state of mind were you are numb - and in the indifference is living and surviving along side your troubles. Strawberry fields was the name of the Salvation Army Children's Home near John Lennon's childhood home. Another reason to believe that it's a place you go to live - trying to forget were you're coming from.

"Living is easy with eyes closed, misunderstanding all you see.
It's getting hard to be someone but it all works out.
It doesn't matter much to me.

Let me take you down, 'cause I'm going to Strawberry Fields.
Nothing is real and nothing to get hung about.
Strawberry Fields forever."

Wanna read more about the song?

Origin is about a special feeling. The confusing feeling you get when you're growing up in two different cultures. I myself has two different background parents, which were hard to merge - and therefore I've been raised as two kind of people. So you grow up not really knowing who you are and were you belong. Are you an orange or an apple? You're neither - you're in the in-between.

What do you think of the idea, showing feelings through fruit??

Pictures to show

I've been living and traveling a lot in England this last year. It was a great experience and I learned a lot not only about the english language and culture - but also about my self! During the time I've come across some amazing places - and this leads up to some pic
tures to show.

So this is obviously London - West Minister, my favorite stop in L
ondon!!

The next 3 pictures is taken on the Ile of Wight at the needle points. I LOVED the Ile of Wight and these pictures are just a small taste of the beautiful nature!

Well this was a few of my England pictures, I'll be posting new pictures soon - and keeping this blog updated!
